Project Engineering - Electricity Ca Mau is one of the 3 big economic projects in the period from 2000 to 2005 in Vietnam (the other 2 projects are Son La Hydroelectric and Dung Quat Refineries). The project The project includes the construction of a gas steel pipeline with 325 km long (298 km undersea); the pipe is 18-inch diameter, 12.5 mm thick, and the maximum transport capacity is 2 billion m³ of gas/year from PM3 mines which belong to overlapping area of Vietnam and Malaysia to Khanh An industrial zone in U Minh district, Ca Mau to supply two power plants and a urea factory. The two power plants have a total capacity of 1500 MW and the nitrogen (urea) plant has a capacity of producing 800,000 tonnes/year.
